Cape & Islands EMS is pleased to introduce our new Learning Management System (LMS) known as CAPE COD EMS.
Last year we researched numerous options and polled providers, supervisors, instructors, and physicians to find what was wanted and needed in a new system. Requirements for the new model included:
Under Cape Cod EMS, each provider that operates under the Cape & Islands EMS system will have their own account and will be assigned under their designated department page.
Providers will have the ability to log in from any device and instantly check their compliance status, expiration dates, available courses, and upcoming events.
Supervisors will have the ability to see a complete list of providers assigned to them, verify providers are meeting compliance requirements, and create customized reports.
Both Individual providers and EMS Officers will receive custom notifications of upcoming expiration dates. This will allow providers ample opportunity to address concerns prior to deadline and potential pitfalls suchas jeopardizing an Authorization to Practice. As a reminder your ATP has a rotating expiration date and will be updated with each new card.
ATPs expire on the providers next soonest expiration date (ex. If your BLS card expires on Jan 1st but your state card expires on March 31st, your ATP expires the next soonest date = Jan. 1st.
Once you get a new BLS card your ATP will now expire on next soonest date of March 31st).
An option we are very excited about is the ability to offer each department their own education platform for their members. This allows agencies to create in-house trainings, tests, and track data, agencies will not be limited to EMS programs.
Our goal is to make this new LMS user friendly, our Operations Coordinator, Jonathan Cook, has been working diligently to implement all requests and works directly with the development team to guarantee our new system is working in the most efficient manner
We do anticipate that with any new technology there may be glitches. We welcome constructive feedback and encourage all to reach out with concerns or issues.
Thank you again for your continued support and we look forward to working with you during this exciting time.
